“Is this legal advice?” / solicitor questions
PreSign gives automated information only, not legal advice from a solicitor.
Summary
PreSign provides automated information only. It does not create a lawyer–client relationship and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed conveyancer or solicitor.
What you might see
At registration, a required checkbox:
I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. I understand the Service provides automated information only and does not create a lawyer–client relationship or provide legal advice.
On every product page footer (sign-in, register, account, Coming Soon, checkout, upload, report):
Not legal advice. This is automated information only. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed conveyancer or solicitor. Do not make offers, bids, waivers, or contract decisions in reliance on this report alone.
The full Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are on the marketing site (/terms and /privacy). Until go-live they are drafts (placeholders for company name and contact details). They still state that Outputs are not legal advice. The marketing /faq and home FAQ ask Is PreSign legal advice? Buyers still phrase it as “is this legal advice?” Marketing /faq and /for-buyers also repeat that outputs are not legal advice. How it works also shows the not-legal-advice line and the WA/auction timing warning in the close band, before the register button. Every marketing page footer shows the not-legal-advice line, the WA/auction timing warning (and a boxed copy of that warning on /for-buyers and /pricing), a Coming Soon line that lifestyle and equity modules are not for sale, and links to How it works, The report, What we check, For buyers, Pricing, Hunter Pack, FAQ, Security, Terms, and Privacy.
Public Risk Preview pages (/property/{state}/{postcode}/{street-slug}) add an above-the-fold notice:
Free preview only — incomplete and based on limited public data. Not a full document audit. Not legal advice.
On checkout (/checkout): product radios (Standard $29 / Hunter Pack $49); optional street, suburb, state, postcode; Hunter Pack credit/expiry/non-refund wording when Hunter is selected; a Switch to Hunter Pack control on Standard; commencement / non-cancellable wording; a required Terms checkbox; a security check (Turnstile); Continue to payment. Continue stays off until Terms are checked and the security check completes. Card payment itself is created by the server (if you see “Payment is not available yet,” try again shortly).
On upload (/jobs/:jobId/upload): file picker (PDF, up to 5), optional listing URL, retention line, two required checkboxes. Submit stays off until both required boxes are checked and 1–5 PDFs are selected:
Document warranty. I warrant that I have the legal right to upload these documents for private automated analysis; that doing so does not breach copyright, confidentiality, or privacy obligations; and that I am authorised to provide any personal information they contain.
Not legal advice. I understand Outputs are informational only, may contain errors or omissions, and I will obtain advice from a licensed conveyancer or solicitor before taking any step in a property transaction. I will not send any AI-drafted amendments or inquiries without professional review.
Upload also shows a retention line: uploaded contracts are deleted when analysis completes; full results may be deleted after 12 months. If processing has not started: “Document processing is not available yet.”
On report:
Download and retain your report. Full results may be deleted after 12 months. Uploaded source contracts are deleted when analysis completes. This is not legal advice.
Draft only. These questions/amendments are AI-generated starting points for your licensed professional. Do not send to a vendor or agent without review and approval by your conveyancer or solicitor.
For WA or auction reports, an extra timing warning appears: complete due diligence before you bid or sign.
What to try
- Treat every finding, question, and draft amendment as a starting point for a professional — not as instructions to act.
- Ask a licensed conveyancer or solicitor before making offers, bids, waivers, or contract decisions.
- Do not send AI-drafted amendments or inquiries without professional review (upload warranty).
When to contact us
Contact us for product or account questions (job id, sign-in, billing when live). Do not ask us to interpret findings as legal advice or to tell you what to do in a transaction.
What we will not do
- Provide legal advice or act as your conveyancer or solicitor
- Promise accuracy guarantees or “bank guarantee” language
- Tell you it is safe to bid or sign without professional review
