Too many sign-in or register attempts

Why sign-in or registration shows a too-many-attempts message, and how to retry.

Summary

If you submit sign-in or register too many times in a short window, the product shows “Too many attempts — wait and retry.”

What you might see

  • Login or register form: “Too many attempts — wait and retry.”
  • This is not the incorrect-password or duplicate-email message

What to try

  1. Wait at least 10 seconds.
  2. Retry sign-in or register once. Do not hammer submit.
  3. If you have forgotten the password, there is no reset flow in the current product — use the password you registered with, or Google when that button is shown.
  4. On a shared network (office, campus, VPN), others’ attempts can contribute — wait and retry once.

When to contact us

If waiting and a single retry still shows the same message after several minutes.

What we will not do

  • Provide legal advice
  • Confirm whether a given email exists after this message
  • Promise a password-reset flow that is not shipped yet
